Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules for appropriate use of HomeOps ("the Platform"), operated by AMAI Automation. It applies to all users of the Platform, including parents, children, staff members, and anyone who accesses HomeOps via the tablet kiosk.
This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. By using HomeOps, you agree to comply with this policy.
2. Intended Use
HomeOps is designed exclusively for personal household management. Permitted uses include:
- Managing household schedules, tasks, and chores
- Coordinating family calendars and events
- Managing household staff (caregivers, housekeepers, landscapers, specialists)
- Processing leave requests and generating payslips for household staff
- Tracking children's academic results and chores
- Communicating within a household via urgent alerts and task assignments
- Using the tablet kiosk as a shared household display
3. Prohibited Uses
3.1 Illegal Activities
You may not use HomeOps to:
- Violate any applicable South African law or regulation
- Facilitate, plan, or conceal any illegal activity
- Generate fraudulent payslips or employment records
- Evade tax obligations or misrepresent employment arrangements
- Process or store stolen personal information
3.2 Harmful Content
You may not upload, create, or transmit content that:
- Is abusive, threatening, harassing, or defamatory
- Discriminates against any person based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
- Is sexually explicit or inappropriate, particularly in relation to children
- Promotes violence or self-harm
- Is false, misleading, or deceptive
3.3 Unauthorised Access
You may not:
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorised to use
- Share your login credentials with persons outside your household
- Attempt to bypass authentication, PIN verification, or role-based access controls
- Probe, scan, or test the Platform for security vulnerabilities without prior written consent from AMAI Automation
3.4 Platform Misuse
You may not:
- Use the Platform for commercial purposes beyond managing your own household
- Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Platform to third parties
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to extract data from the Platform
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's servers, networks, or infrastructure
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
- Overload the Platform with excessive requests or traffic
3.5 Misuse of HR Features
The payslip and HR features in HomeOps are administrative tools for household employment management. You may not:
- Generate payslips for fictitious employees
- Falsify salary amounts, tax deductions, or employment dates
- Use HomeOps payslips as the basis for fraudulent financial applications
- Process payslips for commercial business employees (HomeOps is for household staff only)
3.6 Children's Safety
Given that HomeOps allows child profiles and is used in a family context:
- You may not create content that is inappropriate for a household with children
- Parent account holders are responsible for ensuring the Platform is used appropriately by all household members
- You may not misuse child profiles to access features restricted to adult roles
4. Content Standards
All content you create on HomeOps must:
- Be accurate and honest
- Be relevant to household management
- Respect the privacy and dignity of all household members and staff
- Comply with applicable South African employment law when used for HR purposes
AMAI Automation does not pre-screen content entered into the Platform but reserves the right to remove content that violates this AUP.
5. Staff Data and Employment Records
HomeOps includes features to manage household staff. When using these features, you must:
- Only create profiles for real, actual employees in your household
- Ensure payslip data accurately reflects actual employment arrangements
- Comply with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and any other applicable South African labour legislation
- Not use the Platform to create records that misrepresent employment terms

6. Kiosk Usage
The tablet kiosk (/main) is designed as a shared household display. When using the kiosk:
- PINs should only be shared with the intended household member
- The kiosk should be placed in an appropriate location within the household
- Parents are responsible for ensuring kiosk content is appropriate for all household members who may view it
- The kiosk should not be left logged in to a personal account in a publicly accessible location
7. Account Sharing
HomeOps accounts are personal to the registered household. You may not:
- Share your parent login credentials with persons outside your household
- Allow unrelated households to use your account
- Create a single account to manage multiple unrelated households
Each household requires its own subscription.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this AUP — whether by another user or a third party — please report it to us:

Please include as much detail as possible. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
9. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- A warning issued to your account
- Temporary suspension of your account
- Permanent termination of your account without refund
- Reporting to relevant authorities where illegal activity is suspected
- Civil or criminal legal action where warranted
The severity of the response will be proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation.
10. Enforcement
AMAI Automation reserves the right to:
- Monitor Platform usage for compliance with this AUP
- Investigate reports of violations
- Remove content that violates this AUP
- Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP
- Take any action we deem necessary to protect the Platform, our users, and third parties
We will act reasonably and in good faith when enforcing this policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of HomeOps after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
