1. Introduction
Welcome to HomeOps ("the Platform"), a household management service operated by AMAI Automation ("we", "us", "our"). HomeOps is accessible via homeops.co.za.
By accessing or using HomeOps, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AMAI Automation. Please read them carefully.
2. Definitions

3. Eligibility
To use HomeOps you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Be located in the Republic of South Africa or a jurisdiction where use of the Platform is lawful
- Not be prohibited from using the Platform under applicable law
By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
4. Account Registration
4.1 Invitation Only
HomeOps operates on an invitation-only basis. Access requires either a valid invitation link issued by AMAI Automation or a completed payment through the Platform's billing flow. Public registration is not currently available.
4.2 Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during onboarding and to keep your account information up to date.
4.3 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access at support@homeops.co.za
4.4 Household Administration
The primary parent account holder is responsible for all activity within the household, including activity by child profiles, staff profiles, and any person who accesses the Platform using the household's kiosk PIN.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
5.1 Paid Plans
Access to HomeOps requires an active subscription. Pricing and plan details are available on the Platform. All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
5.2 Billing Cycle
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
5.3 Payment
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise AMAI Automation to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. We do not store your full card details.
5.4 Failed Payments and Grace Period
If a payment fails, your account enters a 7-day grace period during which full access is maintained. If payment is not recovered within the grace period, your account will be suspended. Suspended accounts retain read-only access.
5.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for unused periods.
5.6 Refunds
All subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable South African consumer protection law.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use HomeOps only for lawful household management purposes. You must not:
- Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
- Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Platform
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Use the Platform to harass, abuse, or harm any person
- Interfere with the Platform's security or performance
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
7. Content and Data
7.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to HomeOps (tasks, events, payslips, notes, etc.). By using the Platform you grant AMAI Automation a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
7.2 Accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy of all content you enter into the Platform, including payslip information, staff responsibilities, and leave records.
7.3 Payslips and HR Records
HomeOps provides tools to generate payslips and HR records. These are provided as administrative aids only. AMAI Automation is not a registered tax practitioner or labour consultant. You are responsible for ensuring all payslips, tax deductions, and employment records comply with South African law.
7.4 Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If your account is archived after a period of suspension, your data is retained for 12 months before deletion.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Platform Ownership
HomeOps, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of AMAI Automation. All rights are reserved.
8.2 Licence to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Platform for personal household management purposes in accordance with these Terms.
8.3 Restrictions
You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without prior written consent from AMAI Automation.
9. Privacy
Your use of HomeOps is governed by our Privacy Policy and our POPIA Compliance Statement. By using the Platform you consent to the collection and processing of your personal information as described in those documents.
10. Third-Party Services
HomeOps integrates with third-party services including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Stripe — payment processing
- Vercel — hosting and deployment
Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. AMAI Automation is not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.
11. Availability and Downtime
11.1 Service Availability
We aim to provide continuous access to HomeOps but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated where possible.
11.2 No Warranty
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, AMAI Automation makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Platform's fitness for purpose, accuracy, or reliability.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, AMAI Automation shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage
- Loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity
- Any inaccuracies in payslip calculations or HR records
- Any loss resulting from unauthorised access to your account
- Any interruption or cessation of the service
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AMAI Automation, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
14. Termination
14.1 By You
You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting support@homeops.co.za.
14.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, fail to pay your subscription, or if we determine that continued access poses a risk to the Platform or other users.
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your access to the Platform ceases. Your data is retained for 12 months and then permanently deleted.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of HomeOps after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts. We encourage you to contact us at support@homeops.co.za before initiating any formal proceedings.
